Italy.

After just getting back from the most beautiful (and delicious) vacation in the Amalfi Coast, and although the gelato was to die for....we couldn't stop thinking about one dessert in particular. The cannoli.

The Cannoli originated in Sicily and are a staple of Sicilian Cuisine. They are also popular in Italian American cuisine (which is where I first discovered these mouth-watering treats). In Italy, they are commonly known as "cannoli siciliani" or as I called them, "little slices of heaven". It's flakey pastry shell is filled with a luscious oozing frosting that can be dipped in chocolate, topped with sprinkles, chocolate chips, caramel and powdered sugar.

There. Is. Nothing. Better.

For those of you that don't know... now you know.

Holiday Pop-Up

This holiday season we will be featuring our Santa-Approved holiday themed sweets at the biggest (and most amazing) Pop-Up shop in all of London. It is called Mama Brown's, and the incredible concept behind it is Food.Art.Fashion.Design.

Mama Brown's is located at 232 King's Road in the most gorgeous of spaces. The Pop-Up is located inside an old Victorian sorting office which creates an absolutely beautiful and quirky atmosphere. Everything you see you can buy. Literally everything...from the long wooden tables, hanging chandeliers and lit candelabras to the mismatched couches and vintage seats you sit in. That doesn't even include all the luxury goods, art, fashion and gourmet food that make up the store. It really is such an incredible and unique space and experience where you can get all your holiday shopping done all under one roof. We are here until Dec 15th, so come see us soon!

Superbowl.

Superbowl Sunday is here and we've got the best dude cupcakes EVER to please your sports loving man today. Chocolate. Check. Beer. Check. Pretzels and dip? Well, sorta.. minus the dip. Check. Enjoy!

CHOCOLATEY BEER CUPCAKES WITH A FLUFFY PRETZEL FROSTING:

RECIPE:

CHOCOLATEY BEER CUPCAKES:

1 cup (4.5 ounces) all purpose flour
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons (7.3 ounces) sugar
1/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons (1.5 ounces) Unsweetened Natural Cocoa Powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and warm
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup Budweiser

Add flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a bowl and mix thoroughly to combine. Add in the butter, eggs, and vanilla and beat on medium speed for one minute. Add 1/4 cup of the  beer into the mixture and beat for 20 seconds. Scrape the sides of the bowl and add remaining beer. Beat for 20-30 seconds until the batter is smooth. The batter will be thin enough to pour. Divide it evenly among the lined cups. Bake 18-22 minutes just until a toothpick inserted into a few of the cupcakes comes out clean. Set the pan on a rack to cool. Frost the cupcakes when they are completely cool.

PRETZEL CREAM CHEESE ICING:

100g pretzels
500g cream cheese, softened
100g butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla paste
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup milk

Process the pretzels in a food processor until they’re a mixture of coarse pretzel dust with a few small fragments of pretzel. Set aside.

Beat the cream cheese and butter together until smooth in the bowl of an electric mixer with a paddle attachment. Scrape the sides of the bowl down once or twice. Add the sugar and beat until well combined, then the vanilla and beat again, then the pretzel dust/fragments and beat again. The mixture will be very thick, so add the milk a quarter cup at a time, beating for a couple of minutes after each addition, to thin the icing out a bit and make it smooth.

Crush up extra pretzels for the topping, add a football, or your fav teams colors and enjoy the game!

100 Calorie Desserts.

It's a new year and with 56% of new year's resolutions being to live a healthier life, we thought we would help you do just that.

We've never met someone who told us that desserts weren't their biggest weakness. So, we have decided to share with you some of our favourite, guilt free, under 100 calorie dessert recipes.

Guilt free you ask? Mmmmmhhhhhmmm. You heard us right, under 100 calories and less for all of the below. Prepare, eat and enjoy :)

FROZEN CHOCOLATE COVERED BANANA & PEANUT BUTTER BITES (they're vegan too!)
1/2 banana-1/2 tablespoon of peanut butter-5 oz. dark chocolate squares
Slice the banana in 1 1/2 inch bites.  Put on a baking sheet and spread a tiny bit of peanut butter on each. Freeze for one hour. Remove. Melt chocolate and dip the banana/peanut butter bite into the melted chocolate. Work quickly. Cover completely and freeze until hard. DELISH.

DECONSTRUCTED S'MORES
This is a lighter take on your average S'more. Dip 2 large marshmallows into 1 tablespoon of melted semisweet chocolate chips. Roll in 2 tablespoons of cinnamon graham cracker crumbs and then take a huge bite into it. It's that simple. Be creative and add coconut flakes or pisatchios for a more unique taste.

ORANGE CHOCOLATE ESPRESSO TARTLETS
Stir 1 teaspoon brewed espresso & 1 teaspoon of orange rind into 3 tablespoons of fat free chocolate pudding. Divide the mixture evenly among 3 mini phyllo cups. For decorations sprinkle the top with extra orange rind, then indulge in this mouth-watering treat.
